May the fourth be with you.
No prizes for guessing what date this was written on!
In this issue:
Congratulations are in order to those members of the Management Committee who worked so hard to have the upstairs rooms refurbished. Special thanks to Joe Kerr for the design work, Artistic Director Iris Allen , Trophy Cabinet Constructor, Linton Graham, Trophy Cabinet Manager, Davy McNeeley to name but a few.
The work could not have been completed with so little fuss without the support of Denise and her team at the Bar who worked throughout the project amid all the unavoidable upset.
The three rooms, Bar, Observation Lounge, and Ballroom area are all looking much brighter and fresher.
The whole scheme was completed within a tight budget and although some minor bits and pieces remain unfinished these will be attended to shortly.
I know that some discussion has taken place with a view to providing a more formal restaurant area at the “enclosed balcony” at the Ballroom end. If this is completed the Club will have a dining room fine views across the Lough so bring your friends.
Pleasant surroundings, good food, good wine, good company.
3rd June 2001 from 10.00 am
Due to circumstances beyond the Club’s control the date had to be changed from 29th April.

Some time ago the Committee appointed Direct Wine Shipments as the Clubs preferred wine Supplier. A company described by wine expert Oz Clarke as “the best independent wine merchant in Northern Ireland if not the UK”
For those of you who appreciate good wine a wine tasting will be arranged in the near future. The last one was a great success. Indicate your interest by contacting me at 9335 3332/078 5087 4487 or

Three Hurricane catamarans have been purchased by club members, Pete Waugh, Rory McKenna and Ian Patterson. These fast and exciting craft can be seen any race night and I know the guys are keen to take out anyone interested for a sail.
They can be picked up quite reasonably. Cheap thrills!!!
