Join us for this celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the founding of Northern Ireland Old Gaffers Association.
OF SPECIAL INTEREST ~ ‘PEGGY BAWN’
Built (1894) by Hilditch in Carrickfergus, this beautiful gaff cutter was rescued and restored by yacht historian Hal Sisk, and is accompanied by her mother ship, the ‘ Molly Ban’
SATURDAY 6th JUNE 11am ~ 5pm
Free entrance to the MARITIME MARQUEE. Situated beside CARRICKFERGUS SAILING CLUB, the Marquee will house these exhibits of interest:
- Live underwater pictures of sea bed & sea life around Carrick from the NIEA Survey Vessel anchored offshore.
- Marine Artefacts & Maritime History of Carrickfergus
- The story of the ‘Peggy Bawn’
- Classic and Wooden boats for sale
- Learn to Sail ~ Carrick Sailing Club sail training
- Carrickfergus Sea Cadets
- Belfast Lough Sailability
- RNLI stand and Souvenir Shop
SATURDAY 6th JUNE ~ 12 noon
Classic Regatta
Enjoy the spectacle of the Classic fleet while they race round the buoys just off-shore, viewed from Carrickfergus Sailing Club, the East Pier, the Marine Highway , Fisherman’s Quay.
SUNDAY 7th JUNE ~ 12 noon
Parade of Sail
Can be viewed from Carrickfergus Sailing Club, the East Pier, the Marine Highway and Fisherman’s Quay.
Bar-B-Que & Jazz ~ 3pm
