Saturday “Tiller Time” Sessions

Tiller Time sessions will start this Saturday after last weeks cancellation and
weather permitting run until Saturday 8th October.

The first session will start at 1:00 pm this Saturday  to allow for a parent and junior briefing. All other sessions will run from 2.00 pm until 4:00 pm

This is an opportunity for the club’s young junior sailors up to the age of 16 who recently completed the youth courses to gain more sailing experience under supervision and have some fun on the water. The invitation is also open to all young sailors in the club who perhaps completed previous courses and  who are current members to participate.

We would also request the parents to attend during the sessions to assist and gain some boat knowledge themselves to assist their children at future sessions and events.

The sessions will be aimed at recreational sailing to improve skills and will not be racing focused.

There will be no charge for these sessions but participants must register in advance by sending a confirmation email to training@carrickfergussc.org

Autumn Points Series

Postponement

Sunday 10th September 2022

We have decided to postpone our first race of the Autumn Sunday Series as a mark of respect for the sad passing of HM the Queen.

She was a great advocate of sailing and Patron of the RYA so it is only fitting that we take this time to mourn and reflect on her personal contribution and that of her family to the association and the sport of sailing.

The RYA have posted the following tribute on behalf of the association and all affiliated clubs of which CSC is one:

We are hoping to resume next Sunday but this may also be subject to change depending on how events unfold this coming week and we will advise accordingly.
